Job Summary:          

Supervise and assist in the coordination of the Park's overall safety culture while ensuring compliance with all local, state, federal standards along with policies/procedures established by Six Flags Magic Mountain. Supervise team members and daily operation in all aspects of the Public Safety Division, but with an emphasis on Loss Prevention operations. 

Activities include:

  • Provide leadership, supervision and objective decision making for the Public Safety Division.
  • Conduct interviews and investigations and complete required documentation based on findings.
  • Ensure Public Safety programs, policies and procedures are maintained and enforced throughout the Park.
  • Strive to provide a safe and secure environment for all guests and team members.
  • Conduct trainings pertaining to Public Safety courses and update materials as needed.
  • Oversee Loss Prevention Operations within the Public Safety Division.
  • Maintaining absolute confidentiality with proprietary, business and personal information.
  • Responsible for CCTV and video recording systems including installation, repair and maintenance.
  • Conduct audits in all applicable departments to verify compliance.
  • Knowledgeable in Cal-OSHA, EPA, BSIS, California Penal Code, etc. policies, procedures and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Cover Public Safety Shift Supervisor positions.
  • Respond to calls for service and provide supervision in Public Safety affairs.
  • Provide mentorship and support to all team members.
  • Maintain readiness and cleanliness of emergency response equipment and vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • Must be 18+ years of age at time of appointment.
  • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License in good standing.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a theme park setting preferred
  • Previous experience with video surveillance equipment and setup preferred.
  • Possess strong budgeting, planning, organization, leadership, mentoring and administrative skills.
  • Must be able to perform installations, inspections and audits that may require climbing on high structures, ladders and into confined spaces.
  • Must have strong self-motivation, work ethic and a positive attitude and outlook.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, observe and patrol for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in direct sunlight, outdoors, in the heat and other environmental elements.
  • Must be able to effectively work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Flexible schedule required to include days, nights, over-night, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with sound problem solving and reasoning abilities in high stress situations.
  • Must be able to function during emergency situations such as fires, earthquakes, active shooters, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
