Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operational functions related to the safe and effective operation of Aquatics, Guest Services, and Park Services.
  • Train and motivate teams to provide Friendly, Clean, Fast, and Safe Service.
  • Monitor and effect Guest Satisfaction by championing guest service programs and initiatives.
  • Routinely review Guest Satisfaction Survey reports and follow-up on positive and negative feedback.
  • Serve as a Park Guest Service Ambassador and work to resolve all guest concerns brought to your attention.
  • Support and enforce corporate operations and safety policies, procedures and initiatives.
  • Responsible for maintaining a Total Safety culture for both Guests and Team Members.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all aspects of training and safety programs to include in-service training and ensures 100% compliance with all Six Flags Standard Operating Procedures and Ellis & Associates standards.
  • Routinely inspect all areas for hazards and other safety related risks.
  • Communicate with Park leadership and Team Members on any hazards that exist or may come to exist.
  • Proactively manage safety and ensure all attractions and pools are operating in a safe manner.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained through recruiting, interviewing, and retention programs.
  • Development and maintenance of expense budgets and annual business plans for areas of responsibilities.
  • Track and proactively forecast staffing needs to ensure adequate staffing levels for Aquatics.
  • Request and review bids for outside service contracts outlined within expense budgets.
  • Interface with the Maintenance division to maximize safety and maximize the Guest ride experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the park with special attention to back areas and storage facilities.
  • Provide direct leadership for seasonal team and perform periodic evaluations of their performance.
  • Monitor Team Member Voice Survey results and work with Human Resources to build on strengths and address areas of needed improvement.
  • Serve as Park and Departmental Duty Manager.
  • Provide support to Six Flags Over Texas during Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park in an assigned department, area or specific project.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Three (3+) year’s progressive leadership experience in Water Park and/or theme park or similar operations.
  • College degree in Business, Management and/or equivalent management experience.
  • Must be a certified Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Instructor.  
  • Ability to achieve the Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification within first year.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead team of varying technical, educational and generational backgrounds.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal while being a creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Strong experience training and presentation skills to develop large teams.
  • Experience preparing and managing budgets.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to multitask under high-pressure emergencies.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Will be required to work various shifts as project and park needs dictate, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to forty pounds occasionally.
  • Must be capable of bending, squatting, kneeling and climbing heights in excess of 100 feet.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
